You can determine how tough/easy you want the game to be. Regarding your question about difficulty. I remembered that I had the same sentiment with Nioh and Nioh 2 as well and lookie here who has now around 800 hours into Nioh 2 as a caster, haha. When I learned that the whole wizardry stuff is locked behind the morale system I was THIS close to quit it and refund it. I planned to do that in Wo Long as well and let me tell you, the beginning sucked ass. I played every Soulsborne including Sekiro and Elden Ring multiple times always as a caster (Sekiro obviously not, since you can't really do that), played both Nioh and Nioh 2 up to Way of the Nioh and finished the Depths as a pure onmyo caster. NG+ is a different matter, because the punishment for slight missteps are often fatal against bosses as a whole, but for my NG playthrough, yeah, it felt pretty easy in general. Having completed both Sekiro and SoP, I would say I do find this much easier to both of them outside of about 5 bosses and 2 gank sub missions, and I never even went for a particular build, I played with even distributed virtues. This could be why you're finding it difficult, because you tend to end up subconsciously bringing in "Dark Souls/Nioh" habits which end up getting you punished (I know, I definite did when I first started playing Sekiro years ago.) I say "most", because the only other's I'd likely say provide you beneficial experience going into Wo Long would be Sekiro and Stranger of Paradise, because both of those lean heavily into deflection as your bread and butter means of survival. I am excited for the dlc and hoping the difficulty skyrockets.Įxperience in most other souls games, I'd say, aren't really going to provide any "benefit" here, as trying to play it like any of them is going to get you killed fast. I have also started a playthrough of Nioh 2 and can already see that it is more difficult. Either way, the game is fun but lacks just enough challenge to be up there with the big boys. Having weapon and armor upgrades along with the ability to deflect everything does kinda allow you to faceroll enemies.Ĭonversely, maybe Lu Bu is such a good teacher that he overprepares you for the later game enemies. I think if Wo Long had less loot it may be better. I am at SS Isshin right now and can confirm Sekiro is significantly more challenging and more fun tbh. I think I may have just been rusty as hell but after sharpening my edge it was not too hard. I finished the game about 2ish weeks ago. It only took me like 4 hours so light work mostly. Currently at Lu BuĮdit: I finally beat Lu Bu. Never played a Team Ninja titles until now. Beat DS1 and Elden Ring all bosses multiple times. Is this game much easier to other souls veterans?Ĭredentials: Beat all souls games except Sekiro (currently playing). If find the combat challenging, on the same level as "similar" titles like Elden ring, etc. However, this has not been my experience. Do not argue with their decisions.Įvery review of this game I have seen mentions how Wo Long is "MUCH EASIER" than other souls/soulslikes.
